Shack's 40th October 2001

Richard's 40th birthday party was supposed to be a surprise, and my prescence certainly would have been as I forgot to RSVP. The event was held in Assington Village Hall, the same village that has the infamous shoulder of mutton of previous years. Certainly there was a good selection of the Shackle clan present and it was good to see some old friends like Barney and Jim, who I hadn't seen in a while.

Thankfully the event was not quite as drunken as my own fortieth the previous week as the disco closed at 12pm, but it was good fun, and thanks again to Mark for my perennial place on his settee.
