Gosfield Cross Country 27/10/2002
First race of the Cross Country season saw a very windy day, so windy in fact it was too dangerous to follow the normal course through the woods as a number of them were falling down. So the organisers set up a course of 5 laps around the school fields. This was very testing as running into the wind was punishing. We were also peppered with leaves and twigs that stung with the speed they hit.
I finally plowed home in 26th place. The first Mid Essex Casual runner came in 10th whilst I was just behind the first Witham runner. Dee came in eigth woman. So both of us will be doing some training before the next one.
Directions. Take the A131 to Halstead, as you go into Halstead down the hill turn left by the church, follow this road for about 1.5 mile and Gosfield school is on the right.
