Myself and Graeme travelled just down past Redhill to take part in The Morph and adventure race involving running, canoeing and mountain biking.
There was no actual navigation involved in this race, the 6.2 mile run course was clearly marked, it was very hilly and undulating, but myself and graeme were quite close to the leaders at the finish of the run.
The canoeing didn't go so well, Graeme had not been in a canoe before and as always the first time is a struggle.
Graeme did well to get
round and he did better than me as he got round the very demanding bike course as well. I did one round but
I was struggling to control the borrowed bike and in the treacherous mud it was only a matter of time before I did myself an injury, so I decided discretion was the better part of valour and called it a day after one lap.
I hope to be back next year however on my normal bike and make a race of it as the race is a good one.
