Got the car back from the garage. Ballu arrived about 12 and we set off in the pouring rain to glastonbury. 5 hours later we arrived after numerous delays. Ross and Nicky and Leah and sandy and caroline were already here, and the others gradually arrived in the glastonbury backpackers. John, Chris and Ruth, Matt and Charlotte, Charlotte, Steve, Graham. We played pool for a bit then went to a restaurant round the corner that was very good, and then back to the backpackers for some more drinks. When that closed we went up the ye queens head and played pool with locals and listened to punk rock on their jukebox till about 1.30am.
Met Charlotte, Graham and Ross sticking parking tickets in their cars at 8am. Then after shopping ran with ross up the tor about 3 miles probably maybe 4, felt terrible. Don't like running in the morning, but at least Ross had a hangover, so I wasn't the only one suffering. After some coffee and a cold shower we set off for wookey hole. Me and Ballu went with Charlotte and Steve and penelope the navigation system. The cave was excellent and then there were things like penny arcades at the end of it and a mirror maze. And a walk through dinosaurs. After that off to a pub for lunch and then on to cheddar gorge, we just walked up to the lookout tower and along a little way, it was a bit muddy but the view was good and we saw some wild goats. Back then to the hostel for another cold shower. We got ready for the evening which started with some drinking games and some card tricks from Steve. Ross had prepared a meal for us all which we devoured then continued drinking the free drink, after a rendition of the South African national anthem at 10pm we headed off downstairs to see the band, andthen across the road to dance like crazy to their disco. We headed back in time to celebrate new year in the backpackers with champagne sprayed everywhere. We were then treated to seeing some of the locals try to climb the monument outside the hostel, unfortunately I was a second too late in capturing the fall. It's a shame I didn't last much after 12.30am.
