Up early and off to Liverpool st. Caught a train to Marks Tey only to find that Michael was
waiting with Salina at Colchester, Luckily they came and got me. We popped into the main Shackell
residence and me and Michael got a lift from his dad to Nayland to see the Nayland old boys vs the Stoke
by Nayland old boys. Michael played, and Dino and Stewart and Colin. Michael nearly scored a goal with
a header, and Gerard did a fine job in the first half as linesman. Nayland eventually won 7-1, but if they
had had to take a drugs test they would all have failed due to the Tanglefoot Derek was supplying them
on their substitution breaks.
We retired then in Gerard and Gina's car to the shoulder off Mutton in Assington. It was really well decked
out in England Flags and they did a very good buffet for us all. We all chipped in to bet on the result of the
FA cup. Thinking we would cover all the odds. But we didn't. Mr Shackell arrived with his neighbour Tim
and some more waggledance was drunk. Mr Shackell was really happy till the last minute when Liverpool
equalised to make it 3-3. The extra time was uneventful apart from west ham nearly scoring, then Liverpool
won the penalties thanks to their goalkeeper. Sue arrived then to pick up mr Shackell and was good enough
to give me a lift to shenfield with the Family.
