Floridita 16/11/2006

The accountants conference was as exciting as usual, but after it finished it was a brisk walk to the station and off to London and Bar Floridita in Wardour St for the monthly meal. Had a drink at the upstairs Bar Mesa until Rita and Chris arrived then went downstairs to the Floridita bar itself. I had a mango and mint cocktail to start with which was excellent. Miles and Des tried the Floridita beer which tasted rather strong which it deserved to be for the price.
Penny, Sylvia, Jennifer, Sejal, Sandra all arrived in due course and we took our table for the Meal unfortunately the table was a little bit removed from the stage were a salsa band was playing but it certainly was a lively atmosphere and the place was very popular. This however meant the waiters were rather busy, so the meal wasn't the quickest, but when the food arrived it was excellent and the price of 25 for 3 courses and a glass of champagne made up for the steep bar prices. I particularly enjoyed the dessert and the side order of chips was excellent. For once I had to be the first person to leave my own meal as I had to catch train back to Brighton, getting back at just after 1 PM, which was fine.
