We set off about 5.30 pm and decided to go through london as there were a lot of roadworks on the M25.
Still suffered from delays and we took 3 and a half hours as opposed to the 2 hours that Jeff predicted.
We arrived at the windmill at Bradford upon Avon at about 9.30 and unpacked in the Damsel room, then
went downstairs for some wonderful bread and soup made by Priscilla. Then we retired to try out the
water bed. Up in the morning and we had American and English breakfasts with the other guests, then
caught a train into bath. We wandered around, and I bought some spirits in some interlinking jars and
Ballu bought shoes. We stopped and had tapas for lunch. We caught the train back to Bradford on Avon
and walked down to the canal and saw the tithe barn, then stopped off at a pub to drink a pint in the warm
sunshine, before heading back to the windmill to try out the whirlpool bath. We got ready and then went
out to the Thai barn, a very well recommended restaurant in the town, the meal was great, I had a green
curry, but Ballu struggled a bit after the big breakfast and lunchtime. We then had a pint of wadworths
sumersault at the dandy lion pub in the town, which was the one recommended by the good pub guide.
Up early and I had pancakes for breakfast and Ballu had the american, this time we left early
and took only 2 hours to get back to Victoria.
