I drove to Tony’s to pick up Tim's car. Found i had left the paperwork and had to. Turn back. Picked up the paperwork then. Drove back again. I finally completed the sale and picked up the Hyundai at about 3pm.i rushed back in the new car and got to mine just before Claudia arrived. I quickly showered and packed. And we set of. I had fun with the indicators on the wrong side, but it. Was a much better car than the golf. We stopped at one services that would only give me £13 of petrol so we did a quick stop again later. Google did a great job of navigating us past some traffic jams. We got to the vagabond hostel in betws y coed about 11.30 pm. Not too bad.
We got up for breakfast at 9am but I didn't have any. Then we got all our stuff in the car and set of for the castle inn quarry. We got there without too much trouble and it was a really sunny day. We avoided the routes by the. Car park and went round the corner to do 4 F4 routes in a row next to each other. Myself Claudia and Adam all led them, Then we did 2 F5 routes which we all led and then moved onto F5+ I led one, Adam led the other and Claudia top roped them. We drove back then and washed the car in the carwash. We then quickly showered and all set off for the Chinese. We had to wait a bit, but then tucked into the multi dishes of ice cream myself and Claudia both had desserts. We went back to the bar and i had a shot of the 250,000. Scoville vodka from the guy behind the bar. Then Jemil had one but really suffered and then Trisha had one so I had to have another. I wasn't too bad. I didn't stay up late though as tomorrow was an early start.
We got up for breakfast at 7 am and set off quickly before the others but still could not get into the car park. We had to go over the top and walk back a mile and a half. We got there for 9 am though and met our guides. it was a glorious day and we set off to the decision point where we lost a lot of the people who originally said they were going to do grib goch. We were down to a group of ten. Myself, Adam, Sandy, Claudia, Peter, Bryan, Helen, carol, Binh and Leo. We pushed along the route and didn't have any problems. We say one chap petrified and clinging to the rock, but we could get past him. The top of Snowden was rammed. Some of the girls saw Kat, Alex and Phil there. We pushed on round and completed the whole horseshoe then had a mile and a half walk back to the car. We pushed on to the pub in Llanberis to have food and met Polish Nick in the pub who was camping outside. We drove back after dinner and went down the big pub the stables and joined the others who were sitting outside under the heating. We left about 10 and i took home a plastic pint of beer.
We got up at a reasonable time and the caving people came to pick us up in a big open jeep. We got kitted up at a cafe we had stopped at before and drove a very chilly distance to the mine. I had 4 layers on and some body armour I did not need but i was still a bit chilly till I used my hand warmers. I was the first to traverse the planks clipping in via ferrata style and also the first to do the zip wire. Bryan hit the rope section on this and collapsed some of the mine. I was first as well to go across the collapsed bridge which Leo actually jumped off. We got back and the boys had a record breaking shower and we then walked to a local pub that served us all welsh stew at closing time we headed back to the hostel and we played the table game. I did it then Claudia had a go and did it after Helen didn't quite manage it. We drank on till quite late.
We got up at a reasonable time and set of for Trevor rocks. We parked up and hiked up the hill. We found a couple of F4's and three F5's. They were all good. The last one amateur sleuth was hard at the start and I had to jump off. Claudia led all of them. We were joined by a group with a bbq and then we made a move about 2 as it looked like it was going to rain. I drove all the way back with just one short stop it was quite easy in the new car.
